Rafael Assunção

                                    

Rafael Assunção is a Brazilian director and screenwriter. Born in a small town in the countryside of Brazil and influenced by the latin-american magical realism his main interest are fantastic stories that portray the place where he grew up. Rafael specialized in screenwriting through a Fulbright grant course for underrepresented voices in 2021, where he wrote the screenplay for “I stole the rain for love”. The project was selected for SESC Novas Histórias and FrapaLAB, where it won Best Screenplay award and later was rewritten during the Incubadora Paradiso grant for development with mentorship from Marco Dutra.
